Marketing research objective: Examine sustainability of our product in the market
Key research questions:
Do consumers like our chocolate?
What they like the best and the worst?
Who are our target consumers?
Where our chocolate distrib
utes better?
What we need to avoid in our marketing strategy and what to add?
Hypothesis: How well our product is being sold for understanding what is essential to be improved or changed.
Research design:
-Data collection methodology:
First of all, we need to conduct exploratory research for better understanding of our problems. I would collect the data by conducting surveys:
Personal interview – mall intercept: it is effectively to l ask random people questions in shopping centers and malls about our chocolate;
Electronic surveys via the Internet, using websites, where it is possible to create polls and distribute them in social media networking in order to attract as many people as possible for collecting an unbiased data.
-Sample definition (target group etc.)
For conducting a good survey, it is important to collect enough data to analyse it, and the questions in the survey would be:
Your age and sex (age: below 18, 18-25, 25-40, 40-55, over 55)
How did you know about our chocolate? (in malls, in the Internet, in the TV or owing to our other marketing instruments)
Which taste of our chocolate you prefer the best? (milk, dark, white, with nuts etc.)
Do you like the packaging of the chocolate and what would you improve if not?
Do you like the price of your product?
Give an overall rating of our chocolate; (1-5)
Would you recommend the chocolate to your friend, if not – why?
When we place this research: in a month after launching, as it is enough time to make some conclusions and implement changes.
Preliminary plan of analysis:
Our task is to make a conclusive research for testing our hypothesis and examining our situation on the market. Thus I would evaluate the factors which affect successfully on sells and not: where it is better to distribute (according to the results of the 2nd question), who are our target audience (question 1), and what to pay further attention to and what to change or remove (3-7 questions). After conducting this analysis, we need to carry on our marketing strategy, find out what are our growth opportunities and keep the business afloat
