(i) Determine the market position of a business with which you are familiar and how this positioning has led to the development of (3 marks):
• its Performance Objectives (please include the appropriate diagram)
• the Transformation pr
ocess (again, you must be mindful of how the Performance objectives positioning is reflected in the transformation process)
• the 4 Vs [Volume, Variety, Variation and Visibility] (again, include a brief discussion of how the positioning on the 4Vs is represented in the Transformation process)
(ii) Identify a strategically important operational issue and assess its significance or opportunity within an organisation of your choice (5 marks);
(iii) Analyse this operational issue with respect to the Operations Management concepts and techniques discussed in this course, and identify operational problem(s) that requires managerial attention (5 marks);
(iv) Provide appropriate insights into how the operational problem(s) can be resolved and provide clear SMART recommendations on improvement. Comment upon how you might use Operations Management tools and techniques to improve the operations of the business without necessarily increasing the costs often associated with introduction of improvements (7 marks)
