Abstract
The present investigation is devoted to the study of Dialects and Variants of the
English Language.
The work consists of the introduction, two parts, conclusions, list of the
references and appendix. In the first part of the theoretical survey we gave a brief
outlook on the history of the English language in the XVI-XXI centuries,
characterized variability of the English language and studied the history of the
development of the dialects of the English language. Within the second (practical)
part of the investigation we outlined the main phonetical, grammatical and lexical
peculiarities of the Irish English and Indian English. Phonetical peculiarities of
territorial and social dialects of the English language are analyzed as well.
