The course paper is devoted to conditional clauses in the English language. Conditionals are one of the most used constructions in the everyday speech. Learning conditional clauses in the English language is important for several reasons. Conditional sentences consist of a main clause and a conditional clause, often beginning with ‘if’, ‘unless’, ‘when’. There are four main kinds of conditionals: zero, first, second, and third conditionals, each expressing different degrees of probability that a situation will occur under certain circumstances. These conditionals are used to discuss known factors or hypothetical situations and their consequences, communicating that something is true or happens only if something else is true or happens.
