Today, expressiveness is one of the most actively researched linguistic categories. The interest in the problem of expressiveness is explained by the attention to the linguistic personality and language as a means of realizing its behaviour and internal spiritual activity. Expressiveness reveals the author's language strategy and is one of the means of linguistic influence on the reader. This author's expression is reflected in language, in a particular choice of linguistic means.
Expressiveness can be transmitted at different levels: phonetic, lexical and syntactic. The problems of syntactic stylistic means and techniques create a special organization of expression that differs from the expression in the “neutral” form of presentation. Problems of stylistic means were covered by such scientists as V.V. Vinogradov, V.D. Levin, E.G. Rizel, G.A. Vinokur, I.R. Galperin, L.P. Yefimov, V.A. Kukharenko, O.M. Morokhovsky, M. Murray and others.
The purpose of our work is to identify the most commonly used expressive syntax on the material of John Green's novel “The Fault in Our Stars”.
“The Fault in Our Stars”, published in 2012, was named Best Artwork of the Year by Times, New York Times, and more. The work has been translated into many languages and also screened.
The subject of the study was the stylistic features of expressive syntactic means in John Green's novel “The Fault in Our Stars”.
Although the inventive means of expressive language are described by many researchers, each author in his way weaves them into the canvas of artwork. The stylistic means of expression and their use are so diverse that they are always of interest to those who study English, which makes the relevance of this scientific exploration.

Defining the limits of expressiveness is one of the major problems since it is related to the subjective aspect of human language, namely the emotional attitude of the speaker to what he communicates.
Expressiveness is a linguistic category applies to all spheres of language and is inherent in units of all levels of the language system.
