Aspirin
Aspirin as with many older drugs has proved to be useful in many conditions. Despite its well-known toxicity it is widely used, since physicians are familiar with its properties.
Aspirin is analgesic of choice for headache, transient musculoskeletal pain. It also has anti-inflammatory properties which may be useful and is used as an antipyretic.
Aspirin tablets are adequate for most purposes as they act rapidly. Enteric coated preparations are available, but have a slow onset of action and are therefore unsuitable for single dose analgesic use (though their prolonged action may be useful for night pain).

Therapeutic Indications: Aspirin is indicated for the relief of headache, migraine, rheumatic pains, neuralgia, periodic pain
